Why I chose this book
I love mystery color-by-number books and the Disney universe, so I fell for this volume 11 the moment it came out.
What I was looking for: a real challenge, ultra-detailed drawings, Disney characters I adore and Jeremy Mariez absolutely delivers. This volume is one of the most demanding in the collection, and that's exactly what I wanted.
Quick book overview
Title: Disney Mystery Colorings - Great Classics Volume 11

Pages: 128
Format: A4 (21.5 x 30 cm)

What I really loved
The character selection is varied and beautifully drawn: you get timeless classics like Bambi, Ariel, and Sleeping Beauty, alongside newer favorites like Elsa and Moana.
The areas are very clearly defined, with readable numbers even in tight spaces.
The double-page spreads are spectacular, some take several hours, but the result is breathtaking.
The thick premium paper feels great to color on and really brings out the colors.
Even if you can recognize the character before you start, watching the image come alive under your colors is incredibly satisfying!
What to know before buying
It is not really a "surprise" in the strict sense: you can usually tell which character it is before you even start, even without knowing the colors in advance. Think of it more as an ultra-detailed color-by-number than a true mystery book.
Some areas are extremely small, you will need very fine-tipped tools and a lot of patience. This is not a book you breeze through in 30 minutes.
The color palette can be very wide: some colorings require dozens of shades in the same tone family. Come prepared with a well-stocked kit!
Who this book is ideal for
This book is perfect for Disney fans who want a real challenge. The colorings are highly detailed, with sometimes extremely small areas that require patience and precision.
If you are new to mystery coloring, this is not the right starting point, look for a more beginner-friendly volume in the collection instead. But if you love losing yourself for hours in a complex coloring and the Disney universe speaks to your heart, you are going to love volume 11.
It also makes an ideal gift for a mystery coloring enthusiast or a Disney fan looking for a beautiful book to receive.
What supplies to use?
Important: this book is printed on both sides of the page. Alcohol-based markers are a no-go, they bleed through and will ruin the coloring on the back.
We recommend:
- Colored pencils great for small areas and smooth gradients. We love the Faber-Castell Polychromos and the Caran d'Ache Luminance.
- Water-based markers double-sided safe as long as you don't press too hard.
- Acrylic markers double-sided safe, perfect for vivid colors. The Tooli-Art range is a personal favorite for its color variety and precision tips.
- Gel pens essential for the tiniest areas.
How does it compare to Volume 10?
Torn between Volume 10 and Volume 11? Both are excellent but suit slightly different profiles. The level of detail, character selection and zone complexity differ between the two.

My final thoughts
Disney Mystery Colorings Great Classics Volume 11 is one of the most beautiful and demanding books in the collection. Jérémy Mariez has done an outstanding job with high-quality drawings, iconic characters and a polished layout.
This is not a beginner's book, the fine areas and generous palettes require experience. But if you enjoy a challenge and love the Disney universe, this is a must-buy. Watching these timeless classics come to life under your pencils is a truly unique experience.
