About PixelSecret
PixelSecret is a French website entirely dedicated to mystery coloring, which I created in November 2025. I'm Usako, a coloring enthusiast since 2021 and a web developer. I launched this site because I struggled to find truly reliable French resources on the topic. Today, PixelSecret brings together my honest reviews, technical tips, original colorings and interactive tools for the French-speaking mystery coloring community.
Why PixelSecret exists
In 2021, I discovered mystery coloring books. Very quickly, I ran into a problem: it was impossible to know before buying whether a book was worth the price, whether the paper could handle markers, whether the drawings were well proportioned, or whether the color codes were consistent. Amazon reviews were superficial, specialist French sites were rare, and nobody really tested supplies on this very specific type of coloring.
After buying several disappointing books and unsuitable supplies, I decided to fill that gap. PixelSecret was born with a simple principle: every book, every pencil, every marker is personally tested before being recommended. No commercial partnerships, no compensation for positive reviews: just honest feedback after real use.
What you'll find on PixelSecret
Today, on PixelSecret you'll find:
- More than 25 detailed reviews of the main mystery coloring books on the market (Disney, Pokémon, Manga, Grands Classiques, etc.)
- In-depth tests of supplies: Faber-Castell and Caran d'Ache pencils, Posca markers, electric sharpeners, paper...
- A gallery of original colorings I create by hand, in pixel art and SVG, ready to color directly online
- Free printable PDFs for paper coloring lovers
- Technical tips on blending, color choices, paper and marker compatibility
My review methodology
Every book I feature, I buy myself (never received as a press review copy), and I color at least part of it before writing the review. I systematically test paper quality, number accuracy, progressive difficulty, color code consistency and the visual satisfaction of the final result.
For supplies, I use each pencil or marker on several different surfaces for at least fifteen days before publishing a review. I always state my evaluation criteria and don't hesitate to point out a product's flaws, even from well-known brands.
Transparency and affiliate links
PixelSecret participates in the Amazon Associates program. The Amazon links on this site are affiliate links: if you buy a product after clicking one of these links, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This commission helps me fund the time spent writing reviews and developing the site.
My commitment: the presence of an affiliate link never influences the content of a review. Several products covered on PixelSecret receive negative or nuanced reviews, which demonstrates my editorial independence.
Who's behind PixelSecret
I'm Usako, an independent web developer (React, Symfony) and a coloring enthusiast since 2021. PixelSecret is an entrepreneurial project I'm developing alone, alongside my other activities, with the ambition of making it the French-speaking reference for mystery coloring.
The pixel art coloring generator that makes PixelSecret unique was entirely designed and developed by me, integrating advanced algorithms for color quantization (Delta E LAB), image simplification and printable PDF export.
