I’ve reviewed them below, but if you already want to see them on Amazon:

One of my favorite volumes

Love Stories is in my top 10. I found it at the bookstore, as usual, and I have zero regrets. This volume is demanding, very detailed, and takes real time and patience - but the scenes are so beautiful that every minute is worth it.

The illustrator behind this book is Alexandre Karam. His style is rich, the characters are expressive, and the scenes were clearly chosen with care. It's not just the obvious romantic classics - you'll also find less expected love stories like Ratatouille and Cars, which gives the whole book a lovely originality.

Who is this book for?

Not for beginners. The zones are very small, the palette is huge, and some pages require a lot of focus. If you're just starting out with mystery coloring, start with another volume and come back to this one once you're more comfortable.

On the other hand, if you love highly detailed coloring and want a real challenge, this book delivers. The level of detail is impressive, and the final result is absolutely worth the effort.

The scenes inside

The "Love Stories" theme covers romantic love, family bonds, and deep friendships. You'll find both classic Disney and Pixar: The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Hercules, Tangled, Sleeping Beauty, but also Ratatouille and Cars - a welcome and unexpected surprise.

My favorite scenes in this volume: Rapunzel and Flynn's dance near the end of the film (the lanterns, the colors - it looks stunning once colored), Hercules and Megara, Aurora in her white dress dancing with the prince, and one I especially love: baby Hercules with his parents.

That last one was actually one of the reasons I chose acrylic markers for this volume. I wanted the colors to really pop on certain scenes, and Tooli Art gives those bright, saturated fills that make all the difference on an expressive page like that.

What tools to use?

For this volume I used my Tooli Art acrylic markers exclusively. My goal was clear: colors that stand out, with clean and vivid fills. On pages as detailed as these, acrylics give a rich, saturated result that really brings each zone to life.

The premium paper in this volume handles acrylics very well - no bleed-through, even with multiple layers. A big improvement compared to the Stained Glass volume, where the paper was noticeably thinner.

Two tips if you use fine markers or pencils on this book:

  • White zones have thin lines running through them: keep an opaque white marker handy (Posca or Molotow work great)
  • Some zones are tiny: a fine tip is essential to stay within the lines

About the pre-colored zones

In this volume, some very small zones come pre-colored by the illustrator. No number inside - just a color already printed.

It doesn't bother me at all. It actually makes sense: on a very detailed coloring page, some zones are simply too small to fit a number or color code. Squeezing a digit into them would ruin the drawing. The illustrator made the right call by pre-filling them - it's actually a sign of how carefully crafted this book is.

If you're not sure about pre-colored zones, know that they represent a very small portion of the book. The rest is entirely yours to color.

What I loved

  • An impressive level of detail - really beautiful illustrator work
  • Original, well-chosen scenes - not just the expected classics
  • A mix of Disney and Pixar that brings genuine variety
  • Premium paper that handles acrylic markers beautifully
  • 100 coloring pages to keep you busy for a long time
  • Stunning final results when using vivid, bright colors

What to keep in mind

  • High difficulty: not recommended as a first mystery coloring book
  • Very large palette: plan for many shades in each color family
  • White zones have crossing lines: opaque white marker recommended
  • Double-sided printing: alcohol markers are not suitable
  • A few pre-colored zones (too small for a color code)

My final verdict

Love Stories is in my top 10. It's not a book to pick up when you want to relax without thinking - it's a book you reach for when you have the energy and the focus to really invest in a coloring session.

The scene selection is excellent. Rapunzel and Flynn's dance, baby Hercules, Aurora in her white dress... these are coloring pages you want to frame when they're done. And with bright acrylic markers, the results are genuinely stunning.

If you're looking for a demanding book with beautiful scenes and a spectacular finish, this is the one.
