Color charts made for coloring

If you do coloring, you probably know that moment when you spend five minutes looking for which pencil matches number 34... while emptying the whole box. That is exactly why I made these two free printable color charts.

The idea is simple: you fill in the chart once with all your pencils or markers, and then you have an instant overview of your entire palette. No more testing each pencil on a scrap of paper, one quick look is enough.

Both templates come in a kawaii style with cute little animals. Because even a practical tool can look nice on your desk!

Two templates, two different uses

The numbered swatch chart (page 1)

This template has 48 numbered boxes with "No." printed next to each one. You color each box with the matching pencil or marker and write the reference name if needed.

This is the perfect format for mystery coloring by number: when your book says "zone 47 in sky blue", you find your color instantly without emptying the whole box. It also works great for Tooli Art markers or any other material sold by color number.

The list chart (page 2)

This template offers three columns with lines and small hearts. You write the color name on the line and can check the heart to mark your favorites or colors you have already used.

This format is perfect for pencils without numbers, like Posca or Polychromos, when you want to keep track of your favorite shades. You can also use it to write down the color codes for a current coloring project.

How to fill in your color chart

Start by printing the template of your choice on regular white paper. Standard 80g paper works fine, but if you use watercolor markers or very pigmented tools, slightly heavier paper will feel more comfortable.

Then take each pencil or marker one by one and fill the corresponding box with a clean, even swatch. The goal is to see the true color of the tool on paper, not on screen.

Once filled, keep your chart next to your coloring book during your sessions. You will quickly see how much time you save: instead of testing ten pencils to find the right blue, you spot it instantly on the sheet.

Works with any type of coloring material

These charts work with any type of coloring material: colored pencils (Polychromos, Luminance, Black Edition...), acrylic markers (Tooli Art, Posca...), alcohol markers, watercolor markers, or even simple pencils to jot down references.

Both files are free and created by PixelSecret. You can print them as many times as you like, for each box of material or each coloring project.
