Disney Mystery Coloring - Great Classics Volume 13: My Complete Review
🛟️ Curious about this book?

I received it yesterday, March 19, 2026, just one day after its official release. I ordered it on Amazon as soon as I found out it existed - and honestly, the moment I opened it, I knew this volume was going to be something special. Jérémy Mariez and Alexandre Karam have truly outdone themselves with Volume 13.

My Favorite Scenes
Where do I even start? This volume is a genuine collection of magical moments. The dining room scene from Beauty and the Beast, with that golden light surrounding Belle - exactly the kind of coloring you take your time with. Isabela Madrigal from Encanto, hanging from her vine surrounded by flowers, is absolutely stunning. Ariel and the Prince, Hercules and Megara, the wedding of Roger and Anita with Pongo and Perdita in the background... And then Ondine, the water fairy from Tinker Bell - a truly extraordinary drawing. Jasmine in her red possessed version, and Flack and Flam from Elemental, which are completely unlike anything in previous volumes. There is something for everyone in this tome and that is exactly what makes it exceptional.
What I Loved
- White zones are already filled in - no need for a white marker to cover them.
- Plenty of double-page spreads for the big scenes - genuinely impressive to color.
- Ultra-detailed with magnificent backgrounds and scenes.
- Colors are very well chosen, and there is a real variety of Disney licenses: Mickey, The Lion King, Zootopia, Planes, Tinker Bell fairies, Turning Red, Wreck-It Ralph, Nemo, Encanto, Elemental...
- A progress tracker at the back of the book.
- Original drawings that truly stand out from the ordinary.
What to Keep in Mind
The book is double-sided, so alcohol markers are a no-go - they would bleed straight through. For this one, I plan to use my colored pencils and acrylic markers, which work beautifully on premium paper like this.
The level of detail is very high, so you will need a wide color palette with plenty of shades and nuances. That is perfectly normal for a volume this finely crafted - it is actually part of what makes it so beautiful. There are also a few tiny zones that come pre-colored, the ones too small to fit a color code. It does not get in the way at all - it is standard practice in all the best detailed volumes.

My Final Verdict
I received it yesterday and have not colored a single page yet - but I have flipped through it every which way and I can already say this is the best volume I have ever had in my hands. Compared to Volume 10 and Volume 11, it is genuinely a step above. The drawings are more varied, more original, and the scenes are chosen with real care. This is a buy-with-your-eyes-closed kind of book, with zero risk of regret.
