The Book I Cannot Bring Myself to Start

I bought it in June 2025, and it is still sitting untouched on my desk.
Not because I do not love it. The exact opposite, actually. It is one of my favorites, so I keep waiting for the right moment: the right colors, the right mood, enough time to do it justice.
Classic perfectionist colorist paradox xD
In the meantime, I have flipped through it dozens of times and can tell you everything about it.

My Favorite Little Dolls

The character selection in this volume is really well done.
My personal favorites: Jasmine, Mulan, Ariel, and Vanellope. Seeing them in tiny round baby-doll form is just too cute.
Even characters you have known for years feel fresh in this style. It is a genuine reimagining, not just a simplified version of the originals.

Capucine Sivignon's Style

This volume is not by Jérémy Mariez, and you can tell. Capucine Sivignon has her own distinct style.
The most striking difference: she uses white to represent shadows, which is unusual and can catch you off guard at first. It takes a small adjustment, but you get used to it quickly.
The colors are also generally more muted than in the Mariez volumes, less saturated overall. But it fits the soft, rounded little doll aesthetic, so it feels intentional rather than lacking.
The square 23x23 cm format is also a change from the usual, though it does not cause any real practical issue.

Coloring Page Examples

The illustrations are soft and rounded, true to the little doll style. Zones are well defined and numbers easy to read, perfect for jumping in without any stress.

Solutions are included directly in the book. They let you visualize the intended colored result and can serve as inspiration when choosing your shades before you begin.

My Verdict

This volume really stands apart in the collection.
The little doll style is original, adorable, and brings something genuinely fresh compared to the usual Disney Mariez volumes. The white shadows and softer color palette can feel surprising at first, but they fit the book's universe perfectly.
If you are looking for something more accessible, cuter, and different from the rest of the Disney collection, this is exactly that.
As for me... I will start it when I am ready. One day. Soon. Maybe.
